Administration & Finance
The Department is responsible for managing administrative and financial services for the entire Executive Secretariat. The Department’s responsibilities are divided into the following sections: Human Resources, Budget and Finance and Procurement, Maintenance and Logistics.
The department is currently headed by Mr Chebani.

Legal Affairs
The Legal Affairs Department provides legal advice to the Executive Secretary, the Secretariat and SADC bodies on matters of public and private international law.
The Department is actively engaged in strengthening the rule of law in the SADC member states.
The department is currently headed by Maurice N’DRI.

Economic & Commercial Affairs
The Department promotes the establishment of economic and trade cooperation within the member states and proposes community policies with the aim of boosting the private sector and investment within and between member states.

The Department is responsible for political cooperation, peace and security within the Community.

The Department is responsible fordeveloping and harmonizing policies and programs in the fields of education, health and social affairs within the Community.
The department is currently headed by Fatima ABDURRAHMANE.

Advisor
The advisor plays an advisory role and provides expertise to facilitate decision-making by the Executive Secretary on issues relating to the SAD CEN’s portfolios of activities.
Advisors may work with several departments to solve cross-cutting problems in order to gather information and put the situation into perspective.

The Department is responsible for promoting sport, art and culture as a catalyst for innovation and skills development, people mobility, mutual learning, cross-border cooperation, stakeholder participation and policy reform in the Community Space.
