On June 21, 2025, His Excellency Ado ELHADJI ABOU, Executive Secretary of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), took part in the 51st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Under the theme “The OIC in a changing world”, this session offered a strategic framework for addressing the global challenges shaping today’s international order, with a particular focus on the situation in the Middle East, characterized by atrocities and destruction in Gaza, attacks in Lebanon, Yemen and Syria, and the recent aggression against Iran. These acts of aggression violate international law and international humanitarian law, and have no other aim than to destabilize the subregion, stressed the OIC member states.
CEN-SAD continues to work towards enhanced cooperation with the OIC, with a view to coordinated action in the face of contemporary crises and the promotion of shared values of peace, security and prosperity for the peoples of Africa and the Islamic world.
